Soon Sng has always displayed a keen interest in the area of still photography since his younger days, but his involvement in motion pictures really started when he was accepted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic into the Film, Sound & Video course. Having excelled in the course and the winner of several book prizes, he was subsequently awarded a study grant by the Singapore Film Commission, where he pursued further studies at RMIT University, Australia. He graduated with Distinction in Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies)

 

An adventurous and well-travelled individual, his diverse range of production genres to date has taken him to many countries around the world
 
Soon Sng was the honoured recipient of "Special Award: Magic Eye" for camera work in World Media Festival 2018 and recipient of the “Highly Commended Award Winner” in Asian Television Award for Best Cinematography in 2009.  He has also participated in numerous award winning productions such as New York Film Festival, Cannes Media & TV Award, Promax BDA Asia Award, Cine Golden Eagle Award, Asian Television Award, Silver Screen Award and many more
